Tails, I Lose

As there are two sides to every coin, there are two sides to every issue.  Whatever the issue, it’s likely that someone will agree with it and someone will disagree.

My wife and I were watching the news shortly after Biden announced Kamala Harris would be his running mate.  There was a story where they interviewed several women in the Los Angeles area.  The women were all thrilled that Kamala Harris was chosen to on the ticket and felt that she would be a great role model for women everywhere.  The implication was that all women supported Kamala Harris.  I glanced sideways and I could see the metaphorical smoke coming from my wife’s ears.  She was pissed.

The news story made it seem that all women were happy that Biden chose Harris, because they chose to interview only women who felt that way.  However, that’s simply not the case.  My wife, for example can’t stand Kamala Harris.  We’ve lived in California for the past 10 years and know firsthand what a two-faced politician she is and what a horrible Vice President (or President) she would make.

I know several other women living on my street that feel the same way.  In fact, when you consider the right-left split in California, nearly 25% of all women in California are not happy with the choice of Kamala Harris as the Biden VP.

By not showing that there are two sides to an issue, the media is exposing a hidden bias.  A bias that is equally as misleading as if they were manipulating the facts.  Because that’s exactly what they’re doing.  Unless you’re paying attention, you won’t see that what they’re showing you is only one side of the coin.

The fact is, not all women are happy with Kamala Harris’ performance and track record.  Many women are not at all pleased by Harris’ plan for a “mandatory buyback” (i.e. confiscation) of guns, her support that made California a “sanctuary state” for illegal immigrants and her lack of support for law enforcement.

Many women don’t like a lot of things about Kamala Harris.  But, do you get to hear from them?  Nope.  You only get to hear from the women who help promote the belief that Kamala Harris is wonderful and that she’d make a great Vice President.

If the media were truly fair and unbiased, they would show some people who love Kamala Harris and some people who don’t particularly like her so that the viewers can see both sides of the issue and decide for themselves what to think.  But, they’re not, so you don’t, and you can’t.

This is only one example of the media showing you only what they want you to see.  This isn’t an isolated incident.  It happens all the time.  The media should be showing you opinions on both sides of an issue so you can be educated and informed.  Instead, they parade out a few carefully selected people and soundbites that support what they want you to believe.

Could this simply be an oversight?  Could these just be bad editorial decisions?  Maybe.  But, the news media is primarily controlled by the Left.  So, it’s far more likely that they’re purposely promoting only one side of an issue to manipulate what you see and think.
