Privacy Policy

Updated: September 6, 2020

This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for PonkaBlog (“us”, “we” or “The Service”). This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by us and information provided to us by you.

What data do we collect?

Account information such as user name, password and other profile information is entered by you and stored on our servers. Posts, comments, reactions and emotes that you enter while interacting with the site is also securely stored. We may collect other, anonymous, information pertaining to your time using the Service but that information cannot be used to identify, predict or evaluate any specific behavior on your part.

What we do with the data we collect:

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone. The information you enter when creating your account may be used by us to contact you directly. This information will not be shared with anyone.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information to The Service, your information is protected both online and offline. We use SSL/TLS for securely sending all of your data across the Internet. SSL/TLS is easily recognizable because the site address will begin with “https://” instead of the non-secure “http://” (notice the “s” is missing in the second example). Every time we send or receive your data, we use this secure method of transmission.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Cookies

We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to The Service. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to type in a password more than once, thereby saving time while using The Service. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience using The Service. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on The Service.
