I’ve said many times that I don’t understand how Liberals think. I just can’t comprehend what’s going on in their tiny little brains. I’m pretty sure that’s true about them too.
I’m not saying that they don’t understand how they themselves think. Though I suspect that’s true as well. I’m nearly certain most Liberals don’t spend any time at all being introspective.
What I am saying is that Liberals don’t have a clue how Conservatives think either.
I saw a video yesterday made by a young Liberal woman. She had disguised herself, infiltrated and recorded a vigil for Charlie Kirk, and then “documented” how racist, misogynistic and white supremacy-ish the whole thing was.
Someone else took the video she posted and showed that the “hate speech” she described was people calling for unity. And the “violent rhetoric” at the event was simply people praying.
She tried to use the vigil to smear the Right. But it just showed everyone more of what we already knew. That the Left just makes shit up to get clicks.
The thing I keyed in on is that she felt the need to disguise herself. Apparently, she’s slightly famous as a Left-wing blogger and thought someone might recognize her. She was afraid that someone would realize who she is and attack her for being there.
Here’s the thing. She didn’t need a disguise.
Behind the Mask
Nobody at any of the hundreds of vigils being held for Charlie across the country would have cared if she’d attended. She could have even worn a tee-shirt saying, “there are an infinite number of genders” and carried a pride flag and she still would have been OK.
Sure, people would have noticed her, but as long as she was being respectful, nobody would have had a problem with her being there. Now, if she had started protesting, causing a fuss and generally talking shit, that might have been a different story. But if she was just there, and acting respectfully, she would have been completely safe.
But she didn’t understand that. She couldn’t imagine a world where Conservatives wouldn’t attack her just for having a different opinion.
We saw the same thing at the Trump rallies last year. Liberals would sneak into a rally while recording the whole thing.
Invariably they’d claim to be afraid that a bunch of “MAGA extremists” would take offense at them being there and beat the shit out of them. Also invariably, they were welcomed with open arms. Instead of finding the hate and violence they expected, the Liberal infiltrators found that MAGA people are, for the most part, pretty chill.
Masterdebater
A few weeks ago, an episode of South Park featured Cartman as a “Masterdebater”. They were obviously using their platform to ridicule Charlie. They gave Cartman Charlie’s hair and mannerisms, and showed him debating students.
Charlie thought it was hilarious. He even temporarily used a picture of Cartman Charlie as his profile picture on X/Twitter.
Everyone on the Right thought thought it was hilarious. So did people on the Left. It seems everyone was laughing, but not all for the same reason.
Conservatives laughed because it was funny. In the comment section, Liberals laughed at Charlie because they thought he was too stupid to realize that he was being mocked. They didn’t think he knew that he was supposed to feel insulted, not flattered.
Of course Charlie knew he was being mocked. But he didn’t care. And by leaning into the joke, he took away all its power.
But the helpful Liberals posting in the comments couldn’t imagine someone not being offended at something that was meant to offend them.
Like I said earlier though, Conservatives don’t understand Liberals either.
It Goes Both Ways
Last week, Piers Morgan had a guest on his show named Lucas Beyn. I’ve never heard of the guy before but apparently, he’s a Left-wing comedian. Which you might think would mean he’s funny.
Think again.
He made some memes mocking Charlie’s death shortly after he was killed. Then he posted them on social media and tagged both Charlie and Erika.
When pressed about why he’d do such a wildly crass, tactless and insensitive thing like tagging Charlie’s widow, he attempted to justify what he did by saying he was trying to reach the largest audience he could.
As if that makes it any better.
Conservatives can’t understand how anyone could think it’s OK to harass a woman who lost her husband just to get as many likes and shares as possible.
Riots and Mayhem
When George Floyd was killed, Liberals went wild and rioted. Not a single Democrat politician told people to stop destroying things. To be fair, when Charlie was killed, not a single Republican politician called for peaceful protests either.
But they didn’t have to. Because Conservatives don’t think that way. It never occurred to anyone on the Right that rioting was even an option.
Conservatives tend to support their arguments with facts and common sense while Liberals support theirs with buzz words, memes and slogans.
And because the Left simply repeats what they’re told to say, they keep saying increasingly ridiculous things.
It’s difficult for Liberals and Conservatives to understand each other because they think so differently.
It may be difficult, but it’s not impossible.
People on the Left and people on the Right wouldn’t think so differently, if the people on the Left would just start thinking for themselves.
