American Express

Back in the late 1980’s, I worked for a cellular telephone company.  This was back before hardly anyone had cell phones.  Most of the country didn’t even have cell towers.

That’s where I came in.

We were building towers as fast as we could.  Sometimes (more often than not, if I’m being honest) things didn’t go as planned.  My job was to travel around the country and solve problems.  It didn’t matter what kind of a problem it was, I had to fix it.  And I found that there wasn’t anything I couldn’t fix with my green card.

I am, and always have been, a United States citizen.  So, the green card I’m talking about didn’t have anything to do with immigration.  No, the green card I’m talking about was my Corporate American Express card.

All I had to do was whip out my green card and whatever problem I was trying to fix suddenly went away.

The ad campaign for American Express had Karl Malden saying, “Don’t leave home without it.”  And I never did.

Just use your Green Card

I’m reminded about that as I watch the news coverage about the ICE raids and see Liberals wailing about all the people being rounded up, detained, and ultimately deported.

But, if you’re worried about being arrested by ICE, I have a tip for you.

Let’s say that you’re from some third-world country and you’re working at a pot farm in Southern California.  Then, let’s say that ICE stages a raid on your place of employment and rounds up all the illegal aliens to ship them back home.

This is an easy problem to solve.  Just use your green card.

And by “green card”, I’m not talking about an American Express.  I’m talking about the document that proves that you’re in our country legally.  When ICE detains you, all you have to do is whip out your green card and your problem will suddenly go away.  You’ll easily be home in time for dinner.

Now, you don’t actually need a green card, because those are hard to come by.  So, you can just use the visa you obtained before entering our country.

Not one legal immigrant that has a green card, or a valid visa has any worry about being shipped back home.  That little piece of paper is the key to everything.  There isn’t one immigration problem that it can’t fix.

This is not a vacation

I have no problem with immigrants.  I do have a problem with people who come here illegally and then expect to be handed free things by the Government.  Things that I ultimately pay for.

Illegal aliens shouldn’t be given free legal advice, language assistance, healthcare, a car, a place to stay, or a free education.  And we sure as shit shouldn’t be paying for “gender reaffirming” therapy, though that’s true regardless of anyone’s immigration status.

In short, we shouldn’t be doing a single thing that makes their time in the U.S. more pleasant.  If anything, we should be making it more attractive for them to self-deport than to stay here.

I am, however, OK with spending my tax dollars to round up the illegals and send them back to where they belong.  I don’t want to have to spend the money that way either, but that ship has sailed.

You caused your own problems

Nobody forced anybody to come here.  Sure, the autopen presidency made it ridiculously easy for anyone to illegally enter the U.S., but the decision to cross the border was made by the people crossing the border.

They alone are responsible for the consequences of their actions.  And those consequences include being shipped back to whatever shithole country they came from.

Everybody in this country illegally should be sent home with extreme prejudice.  And I mean everybody.

I don’t care if you’re a member of Tren de Aragua, a maid cleaning hotel rooms or a farm worker out in the field picking strawberries.  If you’re not supposed to be here, then you need to go away.   Period.  The sooner the better.

And no, I’m not afraid that prices will go up because we sent all the cheap labor home.  Trust me, there are plenty of people waiting in Mexico that are willing to get the right documentation to come here legally and do your job.

I also don’t care if you’ve been here for years.  I think that’s somehow even worse.  You’ve had all that time to make things right and you didn’t do it.  So, you’ve lost any right you may have had to bitch about things when you’re finally caught.

Can you say, “Obstruction of Justice”?

And the consequences shouldn’t just apply to illegal aliens.  Anyone providing sanctuary and aid for these criminals should be charged with obstruction of justice, aiding and abetting, or accessory after the fact.  Or all of the above.

This includes government workers that passed laws giving any kind of aid whatsoever to people who have committed a federal crime.  Mayors of so-called sanctuary cities?  Jail.  Governors of so-called sanctuary states?  Jail.  Judges who use their position to thwart Executive authority?  Jail.  Every single one of them.

It also includes anyone who so much as sneezes toward an ICE agent.  Anyone obstructing the lawful duties of ICE should be immediately arrested.  I’m happy to see that President Trump recently gave ICE the authority to do just that.

He should go a step further though.  I think it would be a great idea to send them to CECOT for a week or so.  That might shut them up.  At the very least it will give them a taste of what they’re presumably protesting against.

The Left has gone bat-shit-crazy about this whole immigration thing.  It makes no sense whatsoever to try to stop the President from deporting people who have no right to be in this country in the first place.

Instead of whining about what he’s doing, Congress should be working with him to pass laws to streamline the deportation process.

So, now we’ve got protestors going wild, congressmen acting insane, and rioters attacking ICE agents.

But none of this has to happen.

There’s an easy solution

Every single thing about which these jackasses are complaining can be prevented if the illegal aliens had simply followed the law and entered our country legally.

Nobody with the right documentation has to worry about being picked up by ICE and deported.  All they have to do is whip out their immigration papers and their problem will magically go away.

And like me solving my problems with an American Express, there isn’t one immigration problem that a valid visa or green card won’t fix.

If you’re thinking about visiting our country or planning an extended stay, make sure that you’ve got your ducks, or in this case, docs in a row.  Because if you do, then you have nothing to fear from ICE or Tom Homan.

So, remember to always have your immigration documents handy.  In the words of the late Karl Malden, “Don’t leave home without it”.   Or, better yet, don’t leave your country without it.
